UPSILON TAU CHAPTER
Welcome
About Upsilon Tau.
The Upsilon Tau (YT) Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated was chartered and established on March 19, 1961 at the Catherine Street Center in the city of Poughkeepsie, New York. The chapter was chartered under the exalted presence of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. 12th Grand Basileus Brother Julius S. McClain. Upsilon Tau was the 34th chapter in the 2nd District of the fraternity that extends from New York to Maryland and from Long Island to Pennsylvania. The Chapter was birthed from a unique caliber of Omega men that were originally from all over the United States and choose to set roots in the Mid-Hudson Valley. The men of YT shared a common vision to serve the needs of the undeserved in the counties of the Mid-Hudson Valley area (Orange, Dutchess, Ulster and Sullivan). Upsilon Tau chapter is the first Black Greek-Lettered Organization, from the Divine Nine chartered in the Mid-Hudson Valley region.
